My Art Journey
I started drawing around five years old when my cousin was drawing in front of me and I thought it was the coolest thing ever, so she offered me a paper and I began to draw my favorite character at the time. Although I've grown from just drawing my favorite character over and over, I still keep those drawings close to my heart because that is what got me into the entire craft. Those small drawings of my favorite character lead me to spray painting with my friends, it led me to make my first commission for someone, it led me down the path to use my skill to make friends via drawings of what they liked. It all leads up to now, where my passion for this craft is so strong I've decided to surround my entire life with like minded people as I continue to give my art away for cash to people who enjoy what I make.
In the wake of my new art potential, I moved to where nothing bad ever happens to artists, the internet. Shockingly my art was pretty well received around when I started posting, instantly gathering a small following and looking forward to how I would grow my audience. Although it wasn't always easy posting things online, constantly feeling like all my art must appeal to my audience and having some of my internet peers be less than amazing people, eventually I started doing my own thing, I stopped making things I thought would appeal to my audience and started making things for me and ever since then it feels like I've been generally happier ever since.
- This inspired me to create things like an animation of two pirate ships, shooting missiles at each other, desperate to fight for their survival and victory. Although it just turned out to be a very intense session of the table top game, Battleship, I wanted to make the characters characters feel real, even in animation I can make even the littlest things have meaning, even if that little thing is something as small as a little gaming session
- It also inspired me to make an animation with wizards casting spells and such, a battle of magical prowess in which the more knowledgeable wizard would prevail and walk away alive, and although they were two random characters I made on the spot, I wanted them to feel like they had studied this crazy for a majority of their life times
- This also inspired me to make another animation that while not as long, still meant something to me, and that was all the little practice animations. All the little animations that helped me refine my skill, things such as a backflip animation, a fire animation, a wizard exploring an abandoned home, and my characters swinging their swords around. It all culminated into me refining my skill and motivated me to continue my love for the craft and make something truly legendary in my eyes
